2019/01/08: I changed my research method. First I looked for sources on an artist. Now I work through important database sources gathering info about all the partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions. Later on I will gather these data per artist and will rewrite it in pages on this website. The biggest database I work through is the Salon database (iR1). For me it is important to know when an artist exhibited at the Salon and with what works. Only than there is something to say about the relationship between exhibiting at the Salon and at the ‘impressionist’ expositions. I also am gathering pictures of artworks. Of many partakers there are just a few pictures available, what makes it hard to discern if they painted in an impressionist style. So it will take a while before a next page will be launched.
2018/12/20: I launched a page about Alphonse Maureau, who joined the 3rd ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1877, who equals Monet, Sisley and Pissarro in his impressionist painting style, but who is almost unknown.
2018/12/18: I Launched a page about Jean-Marius Raffaëlli, who joined the 5th ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1880, but of whom almost nothing is known.

2018/10/31: I have now launched most of the pages that I worked on last year. In total that are 91 pages that are almost finished or under construction. Some pages are not yet started are published (= -/-), some are just started (= +/-). In total I also launched about 700 pictures. I will go on finding information about the (many unknown) partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions. There are still 50 artists to go. I also want to launch more pages about the Salon. And maybe about the most important related painters like Jongkind, Manet and Courbet. Further on most pages need additional adjustments. My goal is to be ready before 2024, that is 150 years after the first ‘impressionist’ exposition. It stays a hobby, but surely a very big one. In the main while I will continue to enjoy all the beautiful paintings and enjoy the research of finding information about this interesting period of art-history.
