Piette, 1877 expo

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Ludovic Piette (1826-77)

An impression of his paintings

at the 3rd ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1877

Introduction:
On this page you will find an impression of the 31 works that Ludovic Piette exhibited at the 3rd ‘impressionist’ exposition of 1877 in Paris (catalogue numbers 132 – 162). Piette exhibited 10 scenes of markets, 17 aquarelles and 4 harvesting scenes (no. 155+160+161+162). For several catalogue numbers I couldn’t find a suggestion (no.134, 135, 139, 142, 146, 147, 150, 151, 159). For some numbers I render more than one suggestion. Many suggestions are (very) uncertain.  See the link for an account. See the link for an explanation of the subscriptions and for the used sources at the main page about Ludovic Piette. I render the pictures thematically and by form. Note: If you double click on the first (of a cluster of) pictures and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. Enjoy!
