Gauguin 1886 expo

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Paul Gauguin

(1848-1903)

at the 8th impressionist exposition in 1886

an impression of his exhibited art-works

Introduction:
On this page you will find an impression of the 19 paintings that Paul Gauguin exhibited at the 8th ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1886 (catalogue numbers 42-60) and one sculpture that was outside the catalogue (=hc). Some suggestions are (quite) certain, others (quite) uncertain. Sometimes I render several options. See link for the identification of the paintings.  See for more info the account. See link for info on the subscriptions. For info on the used sources see at the bottom of the main page about Gauguin. I render the pictures by form and in thematical order. Note: If you double click on the first (of a cluster of) pictures and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. Enjoy!
