Renoir Catalogue Raisonné

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Auguste Renoir

(1841-1919)

Catalogue Raisonné

of his paintings

Introduction:
On this page you will find an overview of the catalogues raisonné of Auguste Renoir.
The problem with many paintings of Renoir is that they are not dated and also that the various serious catalogues render various datings.
The problem is that the catalogues raisonné of Daulte (1971=1CR) and Dauberville (2007-2014=2CR) are rare and very expensive and therefore not generally accessible. The catalogues raisonné of Daulte (1971) and the online CR of the Widenstein Plattner Institute (=WPI=iR179) or (still) limited and don’t cover all the paintings. The same applies to the editions of Fezzi (1972=1F +1985=2F) that focus on the period 1869-1883.
Most catalogues render a chronological overview. Dauberville and the WPI render a thematical overview. I will do the same.
Variations in dating will be noted. The works will be noted in this order: 1F (=Fezzi 1972 =R193), 2F (=Fezzi 1985 =R190), 1CR (=Daulte, 1971 =R), 2CR (=Dauberville 2007-2014 =R185), WPI (the online CR of the Widenstein Plattner Institute =iR179), MG (=Meier-Graefe), GR (-Georges Rivière 1921), V (=Vollard 1925). Next I will refer to other catalogue in order of the first publication date.
This page will limit (mainly) to the paintings of Renoir. So the overview of important catalogues at the bottom of this page, for catalogues dealing with other art-works.
Note: this page has just been started and will be extended in the future.
