What pictures did Léon Ottin show at the 2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition? On this page you will find an accounted impression of the 22 paintings that Léon-Auguste Ottin showed at the 2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition of 1876 (catalogue numbers 183 – 196). Most of these works rendered a location in Montmartre. The identification of these 22 pictures is quite impossible. Just one review mentioned some of his works, but none was described (R90II,p43). There are not many pictures known of Léon Ottin and many are dated later (see overview). One of these paintings* depicting (probably) Montmartre I render as a very uncertain suggestion for no.184. All the other suggestions are compilations. Mostly I render compilations of an oil painting of another artist that fits best the subject and additionally a watercolour (or painting) of Ottin that has similarities with the subject. Note*: this painting I also often render to compare. See the link for an account. See link for an explanation of the subscriptions. See for the used sources below at the main page about Léon-Auguste Ottin. I render the pictures in a more thematical order. For the chronological order of the catalogue numbers see the slideshow of 1876. Note: If you double click on the first picture and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
