catalogue 6th ‘impressionist’ exposition

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

1881 catalogue

6th impressionist exposition

Introduction:
On this page you will find the catalogue↑ of the ‘6me exposition de peinture par … (names of the artists)’, better known as the 6th ‘impressionist’ exposition held in 1881 in Paris. Many works of  Pissarro↑ (14 out of 28) and Raffaëlli↑ (15 out of 34) were loans. Note: Cals (posthumously) was not in the catalogue (=hc). This makes the number of partakers 13+1hc=14. The number of art-works exhibited at the 6th ‘impressionist’ exposition was about 187, which is higher than the 170 catalogue numbers. Therefore you also will find additional information in this catalogue. (Note: many sources only render the amount of the catalogue numbers as being exhibited).
See the links for more info on this exposition, an overview of the partakers (with links to info, pictures and an account), a slide show and an overview of the used techniques. At the bottom of this page you will find a clarification.

Clarification:
When a catalogue number contained more than 1 art-work it will be indicated with the a dark red colour; the sub-numbering (for example 6IE-1881-149-1) mostly is mine and will be indented. (Note: the amount of this sub-numbering often is vague.)
When the used technique is noted it will be indicated with a green colour. It will also be noted when (probably) in reality another technique was used.
When the loaner is noted (appartient à…) it will be indicated with a blue colour.
When a work was (probably) exhibited outside the catalogue (=hors catalogue =hc) it will be indicated with italic letters and the colour pink. Note: Cals (posthumously) wasn’t in the catalogue (=hc). This makes the amount of partakers 13+1hc=14.
Catalogue numbers that are (probably) not exhibited are indicated in red.
When a name is miswritten it will be indicated with the notation (sic).
