Introduction:
In 1890 the first Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (=SNBA) was held. A group of artists had separated from the Salon de la Société des Artiste Français. On this page you will find short information and some of the pictures exhibited. First of the partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions and than of related artists.

Note: If you double click on the first (of a cluster of) pictures and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!

The Salon SNBA of 1890, short info:
The Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (=SNBA) of 1890 was held from the 15th till the 30th of May and was held at the Champ-de-Mars in the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The catalogue mentions 546 partakers and 1422 numbers (iR1). This first Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts lasted just 2 weeks. Later on it would last up to 10 weeks. This first Salon also was small. In the 1890s the average of partakers was 826 and from 1901-1914 1142. The average of catalogue numbers was respectively 2135 and 2602. (iR1)  This Salon had a jury, but awarded no medals.

Exhibited art-works by the ‘impressionist’:
7* of the 57 partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions showed about 107* art-works at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (=SNBA) of  1890. Including ; Boudin (10x); Brandon (17x +8dr +6wc); Colin (11x); Desboutin (11x +8 engravings); Forain (23dr); Lebourg (7x); Sisley (6x).
Some of the still living partakers had stayed at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français (=SdAF), namely Astruc; Attendu; Debras; Franc Lamy and Léon Ottin, see 1890.
The art-works will be rendered by form and alphabettically. Note: several suggestions are uncertain or just to compare; for many works I don’t have a suggestion.
Note*: I still have to do a double check. I count the number of exhibited art-works, not the amount of catalogue numbers. See also the accounts of these artists (in the left or bottom sub-menus).
