Saint-Siméon farm, Honfleur

Impressionism, locations where the ‘impressionists’ did paint:

Saint-Siméon farm

Honfleur

a painters’ colony

Introduction:
The Saint-Siméon farm is famous, because Jongkind, Boudin, Cals, Monet and many other artists often stayed and painted her. You could say it was a painters’ colony. It lies at the west part of Honfleur, which lies just south of Le Havre and of the estuary of the Seine and along the Normandy coast. More to the south lies Trouville.
Boudin painted here in the 1850s and 1860s.
Monet stayed here several times, anyway in the summer and autumn of 1864, early 1865 and around February 1867.
Cals started to paint here only 1875(?) onwards.
