On this page you will find an overview of the pictures of Adolphe-Félix Cals that are used on this website.

Cals made many more or less official portraits. First you will find some self portraits.

Cals often depicted one or more figures.

Saint-Siméon farm in Honfleur:
Namely in the 1870s Cals often painted at the Saint-Siméon farm in Honfleur. Several of these works were exhibited at the ‘impressionist’ expositions.

 

Honfleur:
Cals often depicted scenes made in Honfleur and it’s surroundings. This is apart from the Saint-Siméon farm↑.

 

Seaviews and riverviews:
Cals depicted seaviews and riverviews. For the seaviews made in Honfleur see above↑.

 

Orrouy + surroundings:
Cals often stayed at the castle of Comte Armand Doria in Orrouy (iR9) and often painted in these surroundings. Hamlets the were in the surroundings and now part of Orrouy: Eluats and Beauvoir and also villages in the surroundings: Béthancourt-en-Valois.
Of the drawings exhibited in 2002 many were given to Comte Armand Doria, namely no.6-102, made probably between 1837-44.
Some later drawings (1855-78ca) were made in Orrouy or it’s surroundings (nos.117 +119-133 +136 +137). (R522)

Landscapes:
Cals also depicted other landscapes than as rendered above.

 

Still lifes:
Cals sometimes depicted still lifes.
