Exposition Decennale

1900

An overview of the pictures

General info:
The central art-exhibition of the Exposition Universelle in 1900 in Paris was the international Decennial exhibition, the Exposition Décennale des Beaux-Arts 1889-1900, with more recent works of living artists, made between 1889-1900 (=EU-1900-D). On this page you will find more than 150 pictures, mostly of the exhibited paintings. You can discern a variaty of themes and of painting styles, including (elements of) the Impressionist painting style.
First you will find pictures of the artists that exhibited ‘hors concours‘. Than the French and foreign artists who were most awarded with a Grand Prix, including for engraving. (These works can be seen as the international standard of fine arts in 1900.) Than works of 8 partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions. Than some other works of French artists. Than some other works of foreign artists.
If you double click on the first picture and then click on full screen, you can create a (small) slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
