Introduction: You will find on the bottom of this page short information on the Salon de la Libre Esthétique of 1904 held in Brussels, which was explicitly called an exposition of impressionist painters. It is interesting to see which painters did partake, ergo which painters were labelled as impressionist. You will also find some pictures that were exhibited. There will be extra attention for the partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions. The pictures will be shown by form and in alphabetical order.
Note: If you double click on the first (of a cluster of) pictures and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!

1904/02/25 – 03/29, “Exposition des peintres Impressionnistes” (=11LE-EPI-1904): This was the 11th exposition de la Libre Estétique. It was explicitly called an exposition of impressionist painters. It is interesting to see which painters did partake, ergo which painters were labelled as impressionist.
We see several partakers of the ‘impressionist’ expositions joining this exposition: Monet (20x) Pissarro (7x), Renoir (12x) and Signac.
Posthumously there were also works shown of Gauguin, Morisot, Seurat and Sisley.
We also see para-impressionists like: Manet.
We also see Neo-Impressionist painters like: Cross and Luce. Cross showed works made in Venice (R56,p160).
