Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:
Auguste de Molins
(1821-1890)
An impression of his pictures at the
1st ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1874
What pictures did Auguste de Molins show at the 1st ‘impressionist’ exposition?
Auguste de Molins showed 4 paintings (catalogue numbers 92-94bis) at the 1st ‘impressionist’ exposition. None of these works were described, except one more general description. De Molins showed namely hunting scenes, but he depicted these many times (see the overview of his pictures). So positive identification is very hard. Helpfull is that he often dated his works. On this page you will find uncertain suggestions, but it will give you some impression of the works he showed in 1874. See link for an account and for the subscriptions. See for the used sources at the bottom of the main page on Auguste de Molins. Note: If you double click on the first picture and then click on full screen, you can create a small slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
Probably not exhibited:
Here I render suggestions done by others, of which I doubt if they were exhibited in 1874. See account.
