Léon Ottin 1876 expo

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Léon Ottin

(1836-1918)

An impression of his pictures at the

2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1876

What pictures did Léon Ottin show at the 2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition?
On this page you will find an accounted impression of the 22 pictures that Léon-Auguste Ottin showed at the 2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition of 1876 (catalogue numbers 183 – 196). The identification of these 22 pictures is quite impossible. Just one review mentioned some of his works, but none was described (R90II,p43). Maybe 10 or maybe all these works were watercolours. There are not many pictures known of Léon Ottin and many are dated later (see overview). So, to compare I render (combinations) of other works of Léon Ottin and works of other artists and even photo’s. See the link for an account. See link for an explanation of the subscriptions. See for the used sources below at the main page about Léon-Auguste Ottin. Note: If you double click on the first picture and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
